MentorMe Initiative

The MentorMe Initiative offers a progressive development of training through mentorship, consultations, seminars and  hands on workshops that address individuals needs while providing important skills needed to achieve career goals conducted in a time frame that allows for contemplation and gestation.

This initiative and its activities nurture both the administrative and artistic in a 12 month program,   comprised of coaching, workshops, and a self directed project.  The program focuses on implementing ideas into projects that have the potential to go beyond current environments.  Benefits of this initiative allows for focus around issues that are pertinent to growth for you or your organization.

Who wish to participate in 2019 MentorME Initiative

Duration of Program: January 2019 until December 2019

Eligibility Criteria:

Application is open to individuals of all disciplines who demonstrate a creative spark, ambition and leadership potential.  The program will nurture a total of 6 individuals(3-administrators, 3-artists).  Administrators include practicing artists who want to focus on learning administrative skills.

  • Applicant is an administrator or artist
  • Actively practicing and/or in operation for a minimum of two consecutive years or more
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Commitment  to full 21 month program 

Application Process & Submission Requirements

Submission Deadline: Friday November 2, 2018

It is mandatory that you submit your application and support material via Dropbox to before midnight on Friday November 2, 2018.

Support material must be submitted in video, JPG or PDF format.

Applicants should submit:

  • Name, contact number and email
  • Letter of intent on why you want to participate in the program and what you hope to accomplish, outlining your art practice/business (maximum 500 words)
  • CV or Resume
  • Bio (200 words) with head shot

Administrators Support Material – can be one or a combination of the following

  • References for administrative work you have participated in
  • Samples  of event/product/service flyers or brochures (JPG or PDF format), label files with a number, your name and title (ex. 01_NzingaBaou_WorkshopFlyer) (maximum 4)

Artists Support Material – can be one or a combination of the following

  • 5 JPG images of recently completed work; 300 dpi, 1024 X 768 pixels, label image files with a number, your name and title of piece (ex. 01_KwameAduo_Adinkrasymbols)
  • Samples of event/product/service flyers or brochures (JPG or PDF format), label files with a number, your name and title (ex. 01_NzingaBaou_WorkshopFlyer) (maximum 4)
  • Maximum 2 minute video (send link to online YouTube or Vimeo video and cue number for viewing) (maximum 4)

Selection Process

After all applications are received there will be a short list selected based on meeting the eligibility criteria, full completion of application, and ability to commit to the full duration of the program.  Short listed candidates will be notified by Monday November 26, 2018 and will be subject to an interview.  The final selection of 6 participants will be notified by Friday December 7  to begin the program in January 2019.

Accepted applications will be required to pay a program fee of $100.00

Notification of Results

Acceptance notifications will be issued by email and or phone.

Due to the volume of submissions, only those accepted into the program will be contacted.
